Random Pics (Korea)

Don't you love how one day I'll just randomly post pics from my summer vacation  that was over 6 months ago? Yeah, I wasn't kidding when I said I took 1,000+ pictures. There are still lots more to come...stay tuned.

If I knew there was a lot of walking required that day, I would stuff extra snacks in my purse to give me boosts of energy. This hazelnut cookie/snack is one of my favorites. At home I throw the box in the freezer because I like they way they taste frozen.

No lie. I think 1 out of 5 cars had these solar powered flowers. I'm telling you, they are the it thing. I couldn't leave without grabbing a couple for my car as well.

Every time Anthony and I passed a puppy store we couldn't help but to walk in real fast to pet them....then immediately walk out. Yep, we're one of those.

FUBU? I didn't even think this brand existed beyond the Ross outlet stores.

All my (Korean) friends were telling me that this is one of the the better coffee shops and recommend that I try it. I was kind of bummed that I didn't get a chance to though.

Every lingerie store I passed always had the matching couple set. How convenient. Because you never know know when your boyfriend will want the matching leopard tighties.

Custom made uniforms and hanboks at a really good price at just about every street corner.

Luggage Pieces

Every time I go plan a vacation I'm always eyeballing new luggage. Not that there's anything wrong with the one I bought last year, or the year before, but just because I want something new. How impractical, huh? Well, for now I'm just going to "look" before I buy. TJ Maxx had a huge selection of these vintage carry-on pieces. Look at the animal print inside the Jessica Simpson one! It was really hard walking out of the store empty handed.

Venturing Off

Christmas Day along with the last two weeks has been very eventful. We spent Christmas with both of our families, which also meant double the food.

Anthony and I both had a 1 week vacation so we decided to seize the opportunity and go somewhere new. We grabbed a group of friends and headed up to one of the natural wonders of the world- The Grand Canyon. Pictures can't justify the true beauty of this place. We spent hours here just hanging out snapping away with our cameras trying to capture each moment.

Later in the evening we settled down into our hotel room resting with what little energy we had left. When searching for hotel accommodations I always try to pick places that offer free breakfast. Get more bang with your buck, you see? Ahhh, and the beds are always so cozy and comfortable. I always sleep the best in hotel beds.

The next day we did some sightseeing and walked the little town of Sedona. The scenery there is so beautiful and hard to believe it's even part of the Arizona desert. The mountains gave off such vibrant colors and the weather was perfect for hiking. The best part of traveling is finding souvenirs to take back home with you. The worst is settling for overpriced mediocre food.

Our last stop was Montezuma's Castle. It's amazing that something this old still stands for people to see. I guess it also helps that the structure was securely built high into the mountain as well.

All in all, we had a good time. It was nice seeing snow for once. It gave us this true Christmas/December feeling to top off our trip. Quick story- Anthony thought it would be cool to stop and park in the snow for pictures. As we tried leaving we realized that the hill we came down on was actually ice. There was no way for us to drive back up onto the road. We were stuck. Luckily, this guy saw us trying to rev our way up, slipping and sliding every which direction.Being a good Samaritan, he stopped to help us out with his super charge truck. He just so happened to have rope and tied our little non 4-wheel drive suv onto his out of the snow. Hurray, indeed. Right after that I took the picture of that sign.Just a reminder of where we could have spent the night if help hadn't came our way. Ha.

Hotel Motel

Once we arrived on the Jeju island (Korea), our new home would be this cute 30 room motel. Anthony's mom's friend owns it and was gracious enough to give us a great discount for our 3 week stay. :) Look how colorful and cheerful the wallpaper is.This location was so convenient and just a hop-skip-and a jump away from Anthony's cousin's apartment. Each morning we would get ready and make our walk over to her place to start our daily adventure. There are like 15 restaurants on the way so getting breakfast or lunch was never a problem. The only thing we had to keep a look out for were those fast swerving scooter drivers....*honk honk* They would just appear out of nowhere.
