My Shoe Collection

As women, we all have a collection of guilty pleasure. Mine- perfume and watches. (Judging by my closet however, you would assume it would be shoes and handbags.) Over the years I’ve collected so much “stuff” that I cry inside thinking on how careless I was with my money. Why did I need those shoes that were 50% off but had no where to where them? I always imagined I was investing in my future for that “just in case” scenario. *regret*

Now, to introduce to you my shoes- This is actually ¾ of my shoe collection . The other ¼ were chucked out and given away after being neglected for so long. They deserved a better owner that would show them the attention they needed. :)

BOOTS-

Soda-These Ugg look-alikes finally grew on me and were bought at some Korean-own clothing store for $19.99. Can't say no to that deal. :)

Soda-I love these boots. I usually wear these on a night out with friends.

TJ Maxx- I've gotten so many compliments for these over the years. Almost as if they're classics or something??

Target- These are the first pair of boots I bought. I remember I thought I was breaking out of my shell and venturing off into being a "young lady" whenever I would wear these.hahaha

Soda- These are so comfortable and I love the wrinkle effect it has on the side.

SANDALS-

Soda- These sandals are usually worn with my sun dresses or capris.

Forever 21- Thought they were cute, threw them in the closet, and there they still remain...untouched. Maybe I'll break them in this summer.

Betsy Johnson- I wore these shoes maybe 3 times out of the 4 years I had them. I just "HAD" to get them cuz they were "so cute" and on sale. Now they just sit in my closet as decoration. :P

TJ Maxx- These are one of my favorite sandals to wear during the hot summer. These were a steal deal at $5! I was so happy when I found them just lying around the store that day.

India- I just got these in the summer of 2010 from my trip to France. My mom bought them while she was living in India and never really wore them. She gave them to me and I love them. :) Handmade and very well crafted.

BEBE- Even though I don't wear these now because I feel like chunky wedges are done for awhile, I used to wear these allll the time! These were my everyday shoes 2 years ago. Hey, I'm a sucker for shoes that make me look taller which creates the illusion of slenderness. :)

Avon- I ordered these through a Avon catalog...............and then only wore these twice.

Wild Divas-These shoes were given to me as a gift and I definitely got the money's worth out of them. I can't believe I still hold on to this because I've had these since 2003. Haha.

JC Penny's- I bought these "just because." These actually came in handy for a wedding I went to so they got some use out of them. They've been laying in the box ever since.

Tommy Hilfiger- After my BEBE wedge phase I downgraded to a lower wedge and wore these everyday. They are so comfortable and easy to go with any outfit. I always prefer my sandals over shoes anyday.

Aldo- I'm luck Anthony's mom and I wear the same size. She didn't care for these and tossed them my way. I was quick to catch them. :)

TJ Maxx- I don't know what I was thinking when I bought these?? I guess for $12 I thought I just had to get them. I only wore them a couple times....*a waste*

Betula- These shoes are probably my one of my favorite pairs. I was so lucky to find these at Ross for under $20! These shoes usually run $100 plus. I loved the zebra design. It reminded me of the BEBE wedges that I adored so much.

HEELS-

BCBG- My boss would always brag about how comfortable these were and encouraged me to buy a pair as well. They were worth it!

Forever 21- Bought these for a "future occasion" and still haven't worn them........

Dillard's- These were one of those senseless splurges I did because they were "on sale." *a waste again* I wore them once for half an hour and had to take them off because they were hurting the balls of my feet.

BEBE- Found these at Marshall's and thought they were a steal deal. But too bad I only wore them once. Now that I look at them......they don't look all that special.....*a waste*

Jessica Simpson- I didn't want to buy these because they were $60 shoes that were only going to be worn for one night (one of my best friend's wedding.) But she requested that everybody wear the same style and color to better coordinate with our dresses. I guess I could wear them whenever I go out to the bar lounge or something.......

SHOES-

Soda- I love how these look like Chuck Taylor's but half the cost....:) And notice the majority of my shoes are Soda brand?? Hahaha. Hey, can't go wrong with cute shoes for good prices.

Converse Chuck Taylor- I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these!! So bright and pink. Better yet was the enlarged canvas style and thick laces. I just couldn't pass them up.

Dr. Martens- These feel like heavy combat boots compared to my other shoes but very protective and almost invincible.

Diesel- I actually bought these for Korea 3 years ago......but as we all know the story, I didn't wind up going.

WORK SHOES-

Crocs- Pretty stylish compared to the original style we're all used to, right? I thought so too.

Chinese Laundry- Just some flats I needed for work.

Dollhouse- These have lasted me 1 1/2 years and going somewhat strong. I tried looking on their website so I could replace these worn out ones, but they're discontinued of course.

Clogs- I'm surprised I still had these tucked in my closet. These are the shoes I used to wear when I was a server. Ah, good times. Good times.

Aldo- I thought I could pull these off when I bought these. After a couple weeks once I realized they weren't really my style it was too late to return them. *a waste*

Mervyn's- The cashier knew my boyfriend and gave me a good employee discount on these- free ninty nine. Hahaha. Those are the best.

JC Penny's- I bought these just so I could have a nice pair of "business attire" shoes. Haha. I guess they came in handy because it got me to my current job after I wore these to my interview.

Jessica Simpson- Finally found a pair of Jessica shoes that weren't 6 ft high in heels! :P

CLOGS-

Aeropostale- These clogs kept my feet warm during the cold winter days. I really haven't worn them in the last couple of years though.

Dillard's- The patch style caught my eye and made these clogs really appealing to me. I still get many compliments on these whenever I wear them out.

BLING-

Kenneth Cole- I planned on wearing these with some type of business casual attire. That lasted only a couple of days.

Volatile- I originally bought these to wear to my last Korea trip. I was going through some bling bling sandal phase as you can tell.

Guess- These sparkle so much in the sunlight, but the sandal is so flat and hard that it hurts my feet after a couple of hours.

Romus-Now to the most expensive shoes I own---- I saw these shoes in an upscale boutique store. After going in to find out they were $200 designer shoes from Spain I quickly walked back out. Anthony then surprised me for my birthday and bought them. So sweet, right? Back then, yes. Now, I would kill him!! Who spends $200 on some shoes?? Not I, Sam I am. Times have definitely changed since my "careless" spending days......

Pain Pain Go Away

I always dread this time of the month. I start to get grouchy, lose my appetite, and dizzy spells kick in from time to time. This is a sign of none other but the dreadful period!! I know, how gross is that to bring up the topic, right? But, this is apart of my life and I’d like to share it with you….bwahahaha. Well, not to get into details but I hate this time of month……more like the first 2 days. My cramps are so bad that I’m convinced I can’t handle child birth!

How this post came upon today was inspired by my fear of overdosing. Ok ok…not that extreme, but how much is too much when it comes to medication?? Today as I was taking my 3rd pill popping dosage of Tylenol I thought to myself, “Is taking 2,000 mg a day bad for my liver or something??” I’ve tried the occasional midol and advil but 250 mg just doesn’t work for me! I need like the super duper strong stuff; that’s how bad my cramps are. The fetal position becomes my best friend and the heating pad is used over the recommend plug in time. I know, too much information…..but I don’t care!! That’s how much pain you know I’m in is when I share with my guy coworkers that I have bad period cramps and to please excuse me while I go whine in the back. :P

I remember when I was in middle school and I would be too embarrassed to even talk about it with friends. I would just bite the bullet and act like I was fine through that excruciating pain. I would always have my friend check the back of my pants like 10 times to make sure there was no blood seeping through my jeans. That is every teenage girl's nightmare!!! I’ve seen that happen too many times and I was going to make damn sure it wasn’t going to happen to me!

Anthony hates when I make him go to the store alone to pick up my Double XX Super Soaker Absorbency tampons. Hahaha. I don’t do it on purpose, I promise! Hey, how am I suppose to pay the cashier in a fetal position, huh?? :) Impossible. I always tell him, “Be a man, and just do it!” Even though that really has nothing to do with being a man I guess. I try to make the situation better for him and remind him that even though everybody will be staring at you at the checkout line, at least they’ll know it’s not going up your hole. Hahahaha. Anthony, of course, doesn’t see any humor in that……  :/ So then I pull out plan B. “If you really love me you’ll do it!”  *buzzz* Doesn’t work. Even though I try to throw that line at him I don’t know why. It hasn’t worked in 5 years! Hey, a girl can try.

Another typical day

As I came back to work from my days off, I was asked a couple few times on what we did to celebrate Valentine’s day. When we replied with, “Nothing, just stayed at home and cooked dinner,” everybody seemed so stunned and amazed. “How romantic!” They would reply. Well, yeah, it was actually. That last few years we realized that it’s not all about the overcrowded restaurants, over priced roses, and high-calorie chocolate. That’s so typical and repetitive. We’ve been working so much lately that we really just wanted to take the time to enjoy each other’s company. I might sound sappy, but we enjoy the little things like grocery shopping together, and running errands over date night. (Maybe it’s because we don’t have kids together yet to appreciate the date night…haha)

My class got cancelled the other day 5 minutes before it actually started. That was a bummer because now I had to wait and hour and a half until the next one started. So I drove home and got comfortable which lead me to lose my motivation to attend my following class. T_T  I was a little disappointed in myself being that it was the 3rd class in and I’m already playing hooky!! Come on, Michelle!! Get it together! Honestly, the reason why I skipped it was because the teacher has my name on some other role call list and he never calls it. When I check with him at the end of the class to make sure I get credit for my attendance he swears that someone else vouched for me by calling out “here!.” Hey, I’ll take it. J

Korea is only 3 months away!! I can’t wait. Anthony and I talk about it every single freakin’ day! It doesn’t help that hours are getting cut at work for the next 2 months……*sad* There goes my overtime.

When I came back to work Younmi was so cute to give me my Valentine’s gift-

 I love her!! She's so cute!!! :D

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Instead of going out to eat we decided to cook a nice homemade meal together. It was de-lic-ious!
I hope you all have a wonderful Vday!! Take the time to sniff the flowers and indulge in the chocolates.
We ended the night sipping on wine and laughing our heads off to some korean movies. :)

Marrying the Mafia
A man wakes up one morning to find a beautiful young woman
sleeping nude beside him. Neither of them can remember the
previous night’s events. After trying to walk away from the
incident and get back to his normal life as a lawyer, he quickly learns several important facts: 1. The girl is the daughter of a big crime boss. 2. She was allegedly a virgin before he had his way with her. 3. He can either choose to marry her, or be murdered.

Marry the Mafia 2
The oldest son of the White Tiger Gang is pressured by his family to settle down and get married; but when he finds the perfect girl, she turns out to be a state prosecutor for crimes of violence, specifically gangster related. The district attorney is a look-a-like of the gangster's former fiancée who died getting hit by a truck. Their feelings develop for each other but her co-worker turns out to like her as well. She does not like him so the latter turns to the darker side of the law, by conspiring with the rival Axe Gang. Unfortunately for him, the mafia son has more that a few tricks up his sleeve and gets support from his dim-witted brothers and henchman.

A Valentine's Day "Vogue Girl" photoshoot I came across. So intense....I like it.

Musical chairs

I’m so glad that my professors are easy going this semester. *knocks on wood* With one having a comedic twist and the other giving us the answers to the problems, this semester should be a quick breeze. Don’t you hate that first day off school where you have to decide on which seating arrangement you’ll settle with for the next 5 months?

Funny story- Last week I made sure I got to school extra early that way I could get the first pick of seats. I had 30 minutes until class started (traffic was very dead that day…) and so I was left walking around with nothing to do! It just happened to be that day where we had the cold front that left us with 30 degree weather. *brrrrrr* We can’t handle that much cold here in the desert. Our houses and closets aren’t equipped for this. I actually saw some girl wearing capri tights with flip flops!! What the heck was she thinking?? Trying to look cute for the first day or something??

Anyway, it was very cold and I was standing outside my class waiting for the first one to be dismissed. As soon as the bell rang the students maneuvered out like cattle. I squeezed my way in to the back seat. Ahh, yes! I got here early and got my first pick. For all of you that have experienced college life, you understand how important the first day off class is. You have to mark your territory because that states where you’ll be positioned for the rest of this semester life. You can’t just move seat to seat everyday just as you wish because……that’s just weird…….and inconsistent. It’s just one of those no-no’s that are written in the unwritten rule book.

So, as I’m sitting there thinking I conquered my mission I review my schedule just to pass time. …….!!!!!! What?? I was in the right class……….but at the wrong time! Noooo! Now I had to hurry and scramble to my other class (which was luckily near by) and got there 3 minutes before the bell rang. Where was I sitting you may ask? GUESS! In the front; the least favorite seat known to student. On top of that the board was THIS close to my face and it was beginning to get me crossed eyed.  (@_@)
Good news though, I got my seat picking right for my following class. *whew*

Have you seen the new HK collection from Sephora? It caught my eye at the mall, but I wasn't too impressed with the products, especially the perfume.

So, I think I have this disease.........I call it sushi-holic. Haha. I swear, I could eat it everyday all day. If I ever become wealthy I just might fulfill that wishful thinking. :P One of my besties came up to visit me and we went out to one of our favorite sushi restaurant. Of course by the time we get there it's packed and the only seating option was the cold outside patio. Shoot, we weren't picky, just hungry! We took whatever table we could get.

P.S.- Notice I'm always wearing that scarf?? Haha. My mom gave it to me and I love how warm it is. It's a great staple for quite a few of my outfits.

Our Seolnal feast...........

So, as you may have read on my post before the last I stayed home for Seolnal. Eating my bibimbap and blogging is what my day mainly consisted off. :( The next day at work our friends/coworkers brought us their food they had made for the Seolnal celebration. Yeeaahh!! I was so thrilled! (Food at our work was not looking good that day, let me just tell you.) Thank you Geonwoo and Wonjong!! *hugs* They brought us dukboki and dukguk, and man,was it good!(Well, that's their job, they're cooks...kkkk..... Oh yeah, that's how Korean's do their "lol" or "haha" or "hehe." It's pronounced "keh keh keh" but written kkkk or ㅋㅋㅋ. It's starting to grow on me.... >_<

**Hmmm, this whole page is dedicated to food. I just noticed that. I promise I'll switch it up on the next post. I'll try to steer away from the food for awhile....ㅋㅋㅋ :P
