Hanging around town.....

So, today was my only day off for the week and I had a lot of things to do!! My first stop was to eat, of course!! I woke up late as usual (11:30am) and by the time I got ready to leave out the door it was like 1:30pm!! Man, talk about a late breakfast/lunch.

On the way into town I HAD to stop at this wing joint. It is soooo deliciously addictive and mouth watering!! ^_^ Even though this place is located on the *ahem* bad side of town it's worth crossing over. Haha.

Doesn't this just make your mouth drool?? Take another look..........Well, it does for me!!!

After my late meal, I relieved some built up work stress by window shopping around the mall. I have to do some "therapy" shopping at least every 8-10 days, if not I go crazy!!! @_@ But as I was looking around guess what I found???? *drum roll*...........................................some Korean nerdy glasses!!! Yay!!
Anthony thought I looked good in them.....but I was kinda skeptical thinking that people might think I'm older than what I really am! *eeeek* "Uh, excuse me 'ajima.' Where is the math 102 class? Are you the teacher?".....*that was me in-visualizing myself at school with the glasses on for a second, then snaps back into reality* Yeah, nah. Didn't get the glasses.... *poop* At least now I know where to get them at...haha.

So, off we go driving back home (as we had a dinner reservation to catch at an early 5:30pm) and I see my realistic dream car................*taddah*----------------
Just something about a VW Beetle catches my eye. I remember in high school I thought these cars were for hippies and environmental extremists and I would never think twice about owning one. Now, I think of them as cute little fashionable cars. Hahaha. Oh, how times have changed. I'm becoming more "mature" and "adult-like" and my taste has definitely changed since then. I saw the coolest beetle right after this one with a slick burgundy paint job, chromed rims, and a spoiler to top it off. It was sooo sexy that I froze to stare it down and didn't have enough time to react and pull out my camera phone!! *boo* I thought about turning around into the car dealership to take a sneak pic and maybe even look inside of it. That idea quickly erased out of my mind. We all know the dealership deathtrap gimmick.Once you get sucked in, 56 hours later you're driving a car you can't even afford under who knows who's credit with insurance that could pass as driving a Mercedes. T_T  Ahhhh....yes. Bitter sweet memories...  Moving on...........................

I thought this was cute. Talk about a huge family, they even have their 2 dogs and 2 cats included-
Two dogs are enough I think. Once you add dog AND cat hair....it just gets dirty, itchy, sneezy, and hairy.
That's one thing I can't stand but people can't help of course. When I go over to someone's house that has a cat, the hair always ends up on my clothes *grudge* and my mouth by chance! The cat hair is so fluffy that it floats it's way into my lungs!! Hahaha. *yuck* I love cats, too (not as much as dogs though) but why must their hair be so difficult and ....floatacious ( is that even a word? doubt it).

Speaking of cats, if I were ever to own one, this is what I'm loving at this moment- Scottish Fold Cats!

Arent' they so cute and unique??? Don't they just put fuzzy warmth into your heart and a smile on your face? lol. They're so adorable, looking like teddy bear cats :P It's too bad they're so darn fluffy, but I wouldn't turn one down if given to me.
When I graduated high school and got my own apartment I wanted a pet to keep me company on the days I was home(even though I worked 2 jobs and never was at home...hahaha). I always had a "thing" for Siamese cats so I bought one after some research and loved it!! His name was "Chingy" and he was so cute yet feisty! His bright blue eyes got me all the time! It's true what they say about the Siamese cats- they do have dog characteristics. Chingy would "call" for me and come greet me everyday when I came home. He would cry for me when he knew I was leaving the house. He would come everytime I called his name. It was so weird! I loved owning a cat! It was so neat (especially the fact that I didn't have to take them on walks to go doodoo and peepee. I lived at an apartment that didn't allow animals)!
This is how Chingy kinda looked like (far left)

Realizing that I was never there for Chingy I wanted to get him a sister. Luckily for me a lady I worked with breed Siamese kittens for a lil extra cash and gave me one for free!! Yay! That's when "Luna" (yes, I named her after the cat from Sailor Moon...hahaha....I loved that show) came in the picture! I thought this would solve the problem of Chingy's loneliness but it seemed to just piss him off even more!! Our relationship became bitter sweet with "love" scratches. Even though he was just a kitten he was smart enough to know that he no longer wanted me as his mom. I didn't blame him. Everyday as I came home from work I would try to pick him up and he would just scratch the hell out of me! Luna on the other hand was very mellow and chill (just like the real character)! Hehehe. She didn't really care where I was or when I came home.
This is probably how he would've looked full grown

One day, the apartment manager saw the kittens on the window sill and didn't hesitate to have me evicted if they were not gone within 7 days. I didn't know what to do and there was no way in HELL I was taking them to the pound (even though I knew they would get adopted in  seconds). Fortunately, my best friend at the time worked at a vet clinic and posted an ad for me. A nice elderly cat loving lady was willing to take BOTH of them in (as I didn't want them separated). She was sooo happy to get 2 full bred Siamese kittens for FREE that she thanked my friend repeatedly every time she went to the clinic. I'm glad that chapter in my life had a happy ending.
Luna was a short haired (but this isn't her...just an example)

Back to my day, shall we? So, I had to do a little grocery shopping being that I must pack my lunch everyday if I don't want my arteries clogged. Have you seen my pics on my earlier blog posts??? Then you would know why. I'm not sure which is better?? My work food------

OR................The meat at Wal-Mart---------------------

Notice the brown "tint" to it??
Wow, they were so kind to discount the old meat for the customers...such a good business move *sarcasm coming into play*

That's one place I DO NOT buy my meat at, Wal Mart. Now, don't get me wrong. I love that store when it comes to house, personal, and price matching products! I just steer away from the meat, as you can see why.
Now here's a "meat" that never fails me---------------------->
SPAM!!!!! What Asian (especially Korean) person does not love spam?? This used to be considered the "poor man's" food but, so much for poor price! Almost $4 for this fattening artificial mystery product!!! I remember 4 years or maybe 5 years ago when it was .99! Of course this price is for the Tabasco flavor which is highly RARE to find where I live, so I'll fork out some extra cash for this gold prize. The regular flavor is still like $2 something.

Spam is always a necessity in our household. We always have at least one can for emergency situations( as should everybody else....haha).

So, what did we learn today on Michelle's day off, kids? Well, for starters branch out and eat at those hole-in-the-wall places. Secondly, don't fall for dealerships and they're advertising eye-candy tricks. Thirdly, cat owners, please use the lint roller on your couch before having guests. Lastly, stock up on Spam because you never know when there is a beef contaminating plaque hitting stores near you!
