Random mumblings and photos

Wow, this summer has passed by so fast. I start school back up in three more weeks and I don't know where my time has gone ( besides vacationing in Korea..hehe)

Time flies when you're having fun......or working too much.....or trying to catch up with life. Anthony's niece had her 2 year bday party and it's crazy how much she's grown. Anthony's brother has the cutest kids (because they're mixed with Korean.....hehe.... I think asian babies are so adorable and hard not to admire. :)

So, all this news with Amy Winehouse dead....... Was anyone really surprised?? *crickets in the air* I'm just tired of reading this all over the net and seeing it on every channel. Okay, enough already.

I went to watch "Captain America" 3D in the theatres. It was okay. Maybe if my ticket wasn't 12 bucks a pop I wouldn't be so bitter about it. *smirk* I'm just saving my movie money for Twilight this fall. Oh, yes. I am one of those....those twilight fans. Now I'm not hard-core obsessed and getting Edward's name tattooed on my chest, but I am pretty loud and proud of being a fan of the saga. :)

I got a new coworker that's been driving me kind of up the wall. *sigh* You know when you're having a good day and you go into work with that uplifting positive feeling? Well, imagine that but then being quickly deflated by their whiny and paranoia attitude. I just hope this ends soon....

I'm in the pursuit of finding a new blush. I've been using the same one (believe it or not) for 3 years! This hot weather likes to bring the oils out to play from my face and this blush is not mixing well.

I'm working towards taking even better care of my body and skin (especially my face.) I started juicing my vegetables and drinking a full cup a day. I was inspired by this movie and I'm glad I came across it on my netflix. This movie is next in line for my viewing pleasure as well. Speaking of netflix, why is everyone throwing a big stink about their membership price going up? Okay, so it is almost doubling the price (just 3 dollars short), but hey, cancel it then. For someone that doesn't have cable it's still the best deal out there in my opinion.

Is there a certain way that we should wash our face?? I know that it's best to wash the face upwards, but I didn't know this was the trick to the everlasting youth look. :)

I'm off tomorrow so I think I'll go and get myself another shellac manicure. I really love the Sally Hanen's polish line, but it doesn't last me the full month chip free! :P After getting myself pampered I think I'll be in the mood for some sushi! hehehe. Oh, and get Anthony a bday present since his day is coming up next week. *eeekk*

Hmmm, I wonder what August will have to bring me......

My Kpop Playlist for June-July 2011

These songs have been on my mind for months and I've been replaying them over and over again. When I'm driving in the car, working out, or cleaning the house I play the same playlist like no other. Every now and then I'll ween one off and let a new song squeeze in, but for the most part the songs have pretty much stayed the same.

My top, top, top fav. right now is Itaewon Freedom. *Do the JYP dance.* I mean, how cooler can this song/video get?? I'm loving the outfits, theme, and choreography. Nice touch, guys! ;)

Then while I was in Korea I discovered Canadian singer, Shayne. I love his soft mellow voice. I just want to pinch his cheeks. :P

Korean toothbrush holders

In a korean bathroom you'll find majority of the time the shower curtain "missing." The water from the shower is actually meant to spray out onto the floor which then pours into the drainage (which is already installed in the middle of the floor, so nothing you can do about it.) To protect the toothbrush from any soapy residue (or surprises from a toilet flush) you can find toothbrush covers at any convenient store. I stocked up on quite a few from emart......like....10! I love emart!
The covers come in many different styles and have so many cute characters to choose from. I had to end my toothbrush cover spree....it was getting out of hand. Just as I thought I grabbed the cutest one, a better one pops out in the next aisle. Oh well. Why hurt my head trying to pick between one or the other when I can just buy them all. :) I especially love when I have company come over because 99% of the time we always get complimented on how cute and clever our toothbrush covers are and look. Then they try to ask if we have an extra to give.....and I have to lie and say "No. Sorry." (with my best sympathy face on, of course. ):P

Korea's Got Talent- Sung Bong

My tear-jerker of the day

Miss A- Good-Bye baby

It's about time Miss A came out with another hit song. This time I actually like it (unlike Good Girl Bad Girl) and added it to my play list. The catchy beat is right up my alley along with the matching choreography.

2NE1

In the last week or so I've been trying to brush on my kpop. With working, eating sushi, slugging around the gym,  and always doing window shopping I've been a little "busy."

Usually when I'm watching/listening to my kpop songs/videos I don't really pay attention to who's singing what or what group is performing where. If the tune grabs me in I'm stuck and catching myself hitting the repeat button.

2NE1 has been ringing in my ear lately and I've grown really fond of them. After their feature appearance on "Lollipop" with Big Bang I knew these girls had a little kick to them.

I was getting somewhat tired of these cookie-cutter girl groups and was waiting for something else out there to give me a "pop" effect. Not only are these girls sassy with an edge, their eye-catching style is enough to keep anybody interested in their videos.

I love the fact that Minzy and CL are a little 'thicker" than your average singers too with nice curves that add to their appeal. :) Because who likes twiggy legs, right? Plus, Minzy knows how to show off those great dance moves.

I can't wait to catch up on their reality show! *squeal*

Hello Kitty everywhere!

I go to Best Buy, Target, Hot Topic and I love how Hello Kitty merchandise is everywhere just waiting to test me. I couldn't resist, broke down and I bought a new laptop cover, camera case and a cute makeup pouch. Hello Kitty just puts a big ol' smile to my face. ^_^

Oh yeah, and I ordered this .....for.......you know.......one of those days where I'll need a backpack for some reason....or something...*twittling thumbs*

Oh, and this.................

And this..................

And this is on my wish list!!

Daan Forest Park, Taipei

Taipei's green lung

The Daan Forest Park 大安森林公園 is one of the most beautiful parks in Taipei. It's located in Daan District, one of Taipei's richest areas. Especially the part close to the park has one of the highest rents and house prices. And nearby is the popular Yonkang Street, where you can enjoy great food and famous coffee shops can be found there as well. Opposite of the park is Taipei's famous Grand Mosque, which I recommend you to see, if you decide to visit this park.

The park itself is pretty small compared to the parks in bigger European cities, but for Taipei it's considered one of the biggest. It's very clean, very well maintained and full of very beautiful trees. The name "forest park" really makes sense, because parts of it are like a forest. In the northern part is a beautiful lake full of ducks, swans and other birds. Another famous species residing there are turtles. I really enjoyed walking around the park, observing people, animals, the nature... It's such a huge difference to the hustle and bustle of the rest of Taipei, that one would think you left the country and went somewhere far far away.

Enjoy some of my photos from Daan Forest Park:

This is a map near the entrance of the park.

Along Xinsheng South Road.

The hilly part of the park with a nice lawn.

An amphitheater, where people like to chillax.

The pond.

Ducks cleaning themselves.

An interesting fellow, he was observing me.

The turtles coming out. Invasion?

To visit the park, you can take the MRT to Daan Station and then walk eastwards for 10 minutes along Xinyi Road (see a map here).
