Super Bowl Sunday

*this football stadium pic I took from my friend's FB.*

I stuffed my face with so much food tonight. Neither team really had my interest, but I still stuck around to catch the commercials. Doesn't everybody? My favorite; the Kia Optima one by far. Boy, I could use that little sand man right about now.

Rolling in the deep

This is by far my favorite song yet by Adele. I love it, I love, I love it. On the way to work I play it at least 3 times. Wish I had a voice like this talented girl to sing a long though. Notice the girl at 00:42 is thinking the same thing.....

Treeless Mountain

When I'm not reading, blogging or working then most likely I'm netflixing. I'm so glad I signed up a year ago for it because there are endless amounts of shows and movies all for the price of $17 a month. (It used to be $10 up until 4 months ago, but still worth the extra seven bucks.) I always enjoy watching foreign films (especially Korean films or the ones with any type of martial arts.) So in my "suggested things to watch" box this movie called Treeless Mountain popped up. Have you seen it? If you're a sucker for cute little kids like I am, then you'll love this movie. It's about these two little Korean sisters that get abandoned by their mother. The mother pawn off the girls to relatives and the girls live each day wondering when or if their mom will ever return to get them. Some parts had me all chocked up and teary eyed..... These girls are really good actors for their age, bravo. The youngest one, Bin, is my favorite. She's too cute. I just want to squeeze her cheeks. If you see this film, let me know what you think.

Classic Day

Some days are best spent at home, cuddled on the couch, and catching up on classic movies. I remember the first time I watched Gone with the Wind I was so intrigued with the costumes, the old fashion English, and all the bright colors. Being that I was only in elementary school the first time I came across this movie, I'm surprised I managed to sit through hours of it.
Today watching it was just as good, if not better, than the first time. Even though this film took up most of my afternoon, I still squeezed in Breakfast at Tiffany's and How to Marry a Millionaire. I miss movies like these.......

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows

Yes. I am a nerd.I like Harry Potter movies. So what?? Thanks to work I haven't been able to see the new movie yet but I'm slowly trying to squeeze it into my schedule. Not that I would want to wait in line for 2 hours and to be sat right behind a bunch of squealing girls or rowdy kids. The best time to go is like a month or so after the movie's main release date. However, I cannot wait that long...................no, sir.........................

The kiddies are all grown up *tear* and the movie series is almost over. Nooooo!!!!

I'm loving Emma's new do!! So chic! I guess we all must grow up eventually. :(

Dukboki night

Tonight was my duk boki and movie night! It was very relaxing. I needed this to unwind and set aside the stress that's been possessing me lately. The next school semester is coming up and I have yet to decide what classes to take!! I'm going through a quarter-life crises!! Agghh! Why must growing up be so difficult? My major changes every week. Although, my heart is in teaching, I can't help but to listen to my sixth sense-interior design.

Yes, I do have an obsession with remodeling, decorating, organizing, and drooling over furniture. Think, think, think, Michelle! I need to focus on one career path for now until I finish my 4 yr degree.....Anywho, enough of that nonsense. Back to dukboki night. So, yes. I had dukboki for dinner and watched a very interesting Korean movie- Tidal Wave. Although we already own this movie (but hadn't watched it until recently) I was surprised to find this at Blockbuster?? Hmmm, they must be catching on to popular foreign movies, being that they are going bankrupt and trying to get any type of business they can. Ah, yes. Tonight was a good night.

What would your oma do?

Lately with school starting I've been so busy/lazy and not wanting to do anything. I walked out on my algebra class yesterday and didn't look back. (I winded up dropping it) The 3 hr class was once a week early in the morning (8:30am is still considered early for me, ok?), teacher did not lecture well, loudly, or clearly and most of all??? He reaked of old cigarettes!!! The fan that was placed right next to his desk kept blowing his smell all over the classroom!! It was the first day and we were going over the syllabus and as 40 minutes passed by I quickly snuck out like a ninja! (It helped that I sat in the last row as well) Our homework assignment was 130 problems each week!! No calculator!!! We actually had to show our work on all those darn problems!! Is he crazy???? I have 3 other intense classes to worry about plus full time work! I will p-a-s-s!

I should have known not to put more on my plate than what I can handle. Plus, I saw his ratings on this cool website called ratemyprofessors.com and they were not that grand. Oh well, lesson learnt......

So.....the other day before class started I wanted to do something productive (besides studying) and finally watched the Korean movie, "Mother." I just so happened to see it at Blockbuster the night before and was surprised to see a Korean film mixed in with Top New Releases. "Hmmm....this should be interesting", I thought to myself. This film must be good if Blockbuster found it worth while to sell/rent it amongst their other top American movies.

The director, Joon-ho Bong, is the same person who did "My Girlfriend's a Secret Agent" (another good Korean movie I liked.) So, Mother is basically about a mother (of course) that desperately searches for the killer that framed her (handicapped) son for their horrific murder.

I have to admit I was expecting a tad more suspense and action but I quickly remembered that this wasn't a blood gushing, detail showing American film. Hahaha. Well....speaking of details, there is this one part that caught me off guard.....like really off guard (and you'll know what I mean when you see it. :D )

The beginning was a little slow but after 30-40 minutes it starting getting interesting. All in all the movie was good and the ending was great. It totally got me saying, "What?? Really??...Oh...I get it." Just watch it for yourself! I give it 4 out of 5 stars!!

I'm getting sucked in...........help me

Why??? Why did I happen to stumble upon the K-Town Reality Show??? Now I'm eagerly waiting for this stupid thing to air!! I think it's ironic how I just blogged about rotting the brain with television. Guess I'll be consumed one last time. Well, technically I'll watch it on the internet and not the tv because I shut my cable off.(trying to avoid me watching mindless shows..hahaha)

I came across more info and pics to my liking and will keep googling the first air date!! hahaha..Can you say "Loser?"

These pics I posted are a comparison to the Jersey characters that I came across. I'm not familiar with the Jersey Shore crew at all (besides the "snookie" girl being that she's on every magazine stand upon my grocery checkout) but I think I can gather it.....

THE SITUATION VS. PETER LE: HARDBODIES

JWOWW VS. SCARLET CHAN: SMACKDOWNS

PAULY D VS. YOUNG LEE: BLOWOUTS

SAMMI SWEETHEART VS. JENNIFER FIELD: PRETTY GIRLS

RONNIE VS. STEVE KIM: FAUXHAWKS

ANGELINA VS. JASMINE CHANG: DRAMA QUEENS

VINNIE VS. JOE SUGIL CHA: THE GOOD GUYS

SNOOKI VS. VIOLET KIM: TINY DANCERS

Koreatown Shore???

I feel that sometimes show and movie producers are scrambling to make that quick buck. They'll make a show on just about anything these days!! You're single, he's a single, that equals = The Bachelor/Bachelorette.You have a tattoo, I have a tattoo, that equals = another hit for the next 5 years!!! Yay!! **not**

Now as much as I hate reality shows, I might be willing to rot my brain for some good ol kimchi humor. Rumor has it America is on the works of a Ktown Realty Show. * squeal*  Hmmm, I'm sure there will be a lot of honored families out there...Let's see what Cali-style Koreans have to offer!! Hoo-rah!

Well, I'm not going to lie. I'll be one of the first to see what this guy show is all about. Looks real interesting...............

I anyone finds out the debut day/time LET ME KNOW!!!! hehe

How to rot your brain part 1

TELEVISION-

Now, I’m not knocking anyone that watches TV on a regular basis or admits that they can’t live without it. What I can say though is that I’m proudly free of that “bond” and can put my time to some other use…..such as school, friends, shopping……..a life!! I came across this article on Yahoo! and it reminded me of how much this one little box consumed so much of my day at one point. Contrary to the article I can still watch some of my favorite shows on the internet. True Blood is a must and it’s easily found on a couple sites. (I don’t know why the guy couldn’t just google it and find it for free??) There's Cucirca.com, Free-tvshows.com, enjoytvonline.com.....etc. These days you can find just about any and everything on the net.

We haven’t had cable in over 1 ½ yrs. That alone has saved us at least $150 a month. We had the whole package deal- cable, internet and the recording DVR set aka TiVo. We always had our memory to 100% full by the time our day off came around. Guess what we did on that lovely beautiful day off? Used it catching up on ALL the drama series, reality shows, plus interesting discoveries we made on the way such as Taboo. Now what I don’t miss is always "debbie downer" Fox news or any MTV reality shows…*puke, blah, gag*

TV took over our lives. As soon as we got off work…..*bam*  TV time. When we woke up in the morning (more like early afternoon..hahaha) TV was quickly put to our attention….while we were eating breakfast, cleaning the dishes, getting ready for work, talking on the phone…..and I can go on and on. The TV was even on in our bedroom after we turned it off downstairs on our way to bed!! T-h-e-n we would watch it for like another hour or so!! Talk about no-lives.... ~_~

Wow, looking back I realized how much of media zombies we were.We were controlled and influenced by this black box. (not the illegal “black box.” Haha) I am soooo glad we got rid of our cable. Our relationship (Anthony and I) is better due to that I would say as well. Now when we get off work we focus on our day at work and when we’re lying in bed we talk more about the day and what’s on tomorrow’s agenda. I say, just try it!! Try leaving the TV off for 1 week and see how much better it is. It gets easier by the day. You start to accomplish things that were put off for so long (like cleaning out the closets, getting rid of old clothes, actually getting up and doing something productive.) Just thought I'd share some words of encouragement to you all.....Don't you love me? ^_^
Now, internet…that’s a no go…. :D

Now let's review what $150 would get me each month---------

AAAGGHHH!! TOO MUCH BRAINWASHING!!!!!! I think I'll keep my money, thanks.....

P.S.-Note the misspelling on the second clip. Yes, I know it's "realiZing" but this was the only pic I could find on google that matched my post perfectly!! Plus, the person that misspelled it was probably too busy watching TV as they wrote it n the pic. :P
