What is everyone doing on New Year's Eve? I'm going to TRY to go out and p-a-r-t-y. Question: How do you know when you're getting old? Answer: When your friends have other things to attend to such as work, more work, their own families, kids, and more kids. *sigh* I've only gone out twice for new years eve and that's pretty sad in my opinion. This year I'm hoping my friends and I will get together to have a night of our lives. I've been looking frantically for a sexy dress to wear Friday and I must say it was a success! I was surprised there was anything left at the stores. The racks looked like bare bones and the stores felt like they have reached their full capacity with women everywhere trying to get a good deal out of a buck (like myself.) Charlotte Russe was having a crazy sale this past week. Everything in the store was $5 and $10!! I couldn't believe it as I walked into a half empty clothed mad house. They were getting everything cleared out for the new inventory. That should be their daily sale! Dillard's had some cute new shoes in stock preparing for the new year and H&M had some good items marked down. All and all I was pleased with my shopping. I'm not sure if most of you know this or not, but Forever 21 started off originally with Korean owners. Now that the company turned corporate, well, you know the rest. Every now and then you can find things that lead to their roots-
Bags at H&M. I just had to get the tan satchel aka man purse. ;P
I bought this cute headband/beanie thingy and I immediately thought of wearing this in Korea. :D
Oh, and I found my New Year's Eve outfit. This dress was only $10 at H&M! Such a steal deal....
We decided to take a nice road trip to White Sands before we go back to work. I've always heard that New Mexico was exactly like Arizona but I was convinced once I saw it for myself. Alamogordo was kind of depressing to drive through. The town is old and run down looking with nothing to do but shop at Kmart for a thrill. We stopped by the never failing McDonald's to get a quick snack before we headed off to the White Sands Monument. Now, I haven't had McDonald's in almost 2 years ever since Food Inc changed my outlook on the way we eat. I guess I could have starved until dinner but you don't understand how crucial it is for my body to always have food in my system. I get these bad headaches and my grouchiness is bad enough to scare away the dead. I settled for the chicken nuggets since that was my fav. way back when. Maybe I was better off with some apple dippers??
I bit into my nugget and forced myself to swallow. Why? Because if I looked the nugget in the eye I would see this----
What is this white fluffy "stuff?" I swear, I could barely see any "chicken: in this. It tasted like I was eating fried fluff balls of starch....After my second one I wanted to gag. I winded up chugging my water bottle until my stomach was full with H20.As if this statement would help me feel better or healthier about eating this.....
Aahhh, then I remembered Anthony's mom pack kimbop as back up...which came in handy *yay* It tasted like heaven......... I love spam in my kimbap. :D
(I was wearing 2 camis under my sweater so excuse me if I look a little prego..hahaha)
It was so beautiful out there. The sand was as white as snow and cool to the touch. I actually rode down the higher slops like a little kid. The sand is very fine and easy to wipe of your clothes. I wouldn't mind visiting the White Sands again................if I was passing through New Mexico for some odd reason. Alamogordo is just too boring for me. *snooze*
These are the cutest accessories for the chilly winter weather.....I could have used these gloves at White Sands.... :(
